What are immune peptides?

Immune peptides act at very different points in the immune system. Thymosin Alpha-1 and the thymus peptides (Thymalin, Thymagen, Vilon) are linked to T cell maturation. LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin, an antimicrobial peptide. VIP calms immune cells and relaxes smooth muscle, and KPV is studied for gut inflammation.

Thymosin Alpha-1 is approved in several countries as thymalfasin. The others are research compounds.
