What raw amino GHRP-2 is

Raw amino GHRP-2 (growth hormone releasing peptide 2, also called pralmorelin) is a six-amino-acid peptide that acts on the ghrelin receptor. Of the original GHRPs it’s the strongest GH releaser, with a milder effect on appetite than GHRP-6. Raw Amino sells it in 5mg and 10mg vials for laboratory research only.

How GHRP-2 works

GHRP-2 binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, the same one ghrelin uses. That triggers GH release from the pituitary through a different route from GHRH. When both signals arrive together, animal studies report a bigger GH pulse than either gives alone, which is why GHRP-2 is so often paired with a GHRH analog.

Compared with ipamorelin, GHRP-2 is less selective: it also raises cortisol and prolactin a little. Compared with GHRP-6, it has less effect on hunger.

What the research says

GHRP-2 was studied in people in the 1990s as a diagnostic test of GH reserve, and it’s approved in Japan as pralmorelin for that purpose. Studies by Bowers and others showed that it works together with GHRH. The PubMed search for GHRP-2 lists the work.

Mixing and storing raw amino GHRP-2

Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the water you add. Use sterile bacteriostatic water, let it run slowly down the inside of the glass and swirl until the powder is gone; don’t shake it. Keep sealed vials frozen at -20°C, and once mixed, keep the vial in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and use it within about four weeks. A 5mg vial with 2mL of water gives 2.5mg per mL.

GHRP-2 vs GHRP-6 vs ipamorelin

All three act on the ghrelin receptor but behave differently in lab models. GHRP-2 gives the largest GH release of the three. GHRP-6 raises appetite the most, which makes it the standard tool for feeding studies. Ipamorelin is the most selective, with the smallest effect on cortisol and prolactin.
