Our Syn-Coll 200mg is freeze-dried Syn-Coll (palmitoyl tripeptide-5) in a 200mg vial. Syn-Coll is a TGF-beta-activating palmitoyl tripeptide. It’s sold for laboratory research only.

About Syn-Coll (palmitoyl tripeptide-5)

Syn-Coll is the trade name for palmitoyl tripeptide-5, the tripeptide Lys-Val-Lys with a palmitic acid chain. It was built to copy a short sequence in thrombospondin-1, the matrix protein that switches on latent TGF-beta in skin.

It’s sold as a collagen-boosting ingredient and is one of the more widely used signal peptides in anti-wrinkle formulations.

How Syn-Coll works

TGF-beta is made in an inactive form that stays locked to the matrix until something frees it. Thrombospondin-1 is one of the proteins that does this, using a short KRFK-type sequence.

Syn-Coll mimics that sequence. Once TGF-beta is released, fibroblasts step up collagen production. The palmitoyl tail helps the peptide get through the outer skin layer to reach them.

Published studies on Syn-Coll

Supplier studies on human fibroblasts reported more collagen I and III, and a placebo-controlled cosmetic study described fewer and shallower wrinkles after 84 days.

Most data come from the manufacturer. Independent published work is limited, so it sits in the same evidence bracket as other signal peptides like palmitoyl pentapeptide-4.

Syn-Coll compared with similar peptides

In short, Syn-Coll copies thrombospondin-1 to free TGF-beta and push collagen output. Here’s how its closest relatives differ:

  • Matrixyl is the collagen-fragment signal peptide sold as Matrixyl
  • GHK Basic is the GHK tripeptide without copper
  • Pal-AHK is the AHK tripeptide with a palmitic acid tail and no copper
  • Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 is the other half of Matrixyl 3000, studied for lowering IL-6 in skin
  • Pal-GHK is GHK with a palmitic acid tail, half of Matrixyl 3000
  • Tripeptide-29 is the Gly-Pro-Hyp triplet that repeats along collagen chains

Collagen and repair peptides make up most of our skin range. The copper peptides carry a metal ion, the palmitoyl ones a fatty acid, and each copies a different piece of the skin’s own matrix. See them side by side on our skin and cosmetic peptides page.

How to mix Syn-Coll 200mg

Work out concentration by dividing what’s in the vial by the water you add. For example:

  • 200mg vial plus 5mL of water: 40mg per mL
  • 200mg vial plus 10mL of water: 20mg per mL

Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. Bring the vial to room temperature first, add the water drop by drop down the side, then swirl. If the powder takes a while, wait instead of shaking.

Write the concentration and the date on the label as soon as you’ve mixed it.

Storing Syn-Coll 200mg

Sealed vials keep best in a freezer at -20°C, away from light. Short spells at room temperature during shipping are fine for freeze-dried peptide.

After reconstitution it belongs in the fridge (2 to 8°C), and most labs finish it within 28 days. Only mix one vial at a time; powder lasts far longer than solution.

What is printed on the Syn-Coll 200mg vial

Look for the Raw Amino logo, the name of the compound, the Research use only band and the strength, 200mg. Those four things tell you you’ve got the right vial.

Freeze-dried peptide often looks like very little powder, sometimes just a thin white layer. That’s normal. The amount is set by weight, not by how full the vial looks.

If your protocol requires in-house confirmation, set a little material aside from the first vial for your own analysis before the study starts.
